Bullets end teen dreams

By the skin of one's teeth days before she was gunned down in the Norwegian massacre, a Kiwi-born teenager wrote poignantly about her hopes for a fun-filled weekend at a summer childhood camp.

Sharidyn Svebakk-Bohn was the youngest of 77 victims murdered in head blood by right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik last week.

The 14-year-old posted her decisive blog after arriving at Utoya Island, where she was executed with dozens of teenagers attending a Workers Party youth camp.

Last Wednesday she wrote: "These are some of the things that MUST be remembered for maximum pleasure of the week. It is very important to come with mountain clothing that is actually meant for winter.

"Heh, very fun when your backpack weighs about as much as you do yourself, and you must take it on and off several times."

The blog, titled "Purple In Cut", gives an insight into the mind of a typical teenager, full of hopes and dreams, but also dealing with gloom and body-image issues.
