The Charlotte sector is vast and diverse. The more voices engaged in conversation, the better for us all. The Charlotte Observer welcomes your comments on information of the day, but we ask that you keep the discourse civil.
Do not use profanity or obscenities. And don't try to camouflage profanity with asterisks, abbreviations or other symbols or tramontane phrases. Do not use threatening language. Talk of violence won't be tolerated. No racial, gender or sensual-orientation name-calling. Do not attack other commenters for their views. Do not libel or defame anyone or violate their clandestineness. Keep your comments succinct and stay on topic. Comments that bear no relation to the story may be deleted. Do not add images to your comments. Do not statement comments as abusive simply because you disagree with them. Report them only if they violate these guidelines. Do not post spam or advertising of any species. Do not post a comment using all capital letters.
We do not monitor each and every posting, but we reserve the principal to block or delete comments that violate these rules.

School system provides checklist of items for students

Here’s a shopping list of supplies students will need at area schools, found on the Rowan-Salisbury School System website:
Straightforward schools
Teachers may request students bring the following supplies to Rowan-Salisbury clear schools. Assistance will be available for students who need help getting these items. For questions about the lists, touch your child’s school.
Kindergarten — book bag; optional items: cement sticks, three-ring binder, Ziploc bags, Wet Wipes-unscented, change of clothing, scissors, facial tissues.
Score 1 — book bag, block eraser, glue sticks, pencils, Ziploc bags, pencil leap at or box, old sock; optional items: 70-page composition notebook, dry erase markers, facial conglomeration.
Grade 2 — book bag, crayons, wide-ruled notebook newsletter, pencils, pencil pouch or box, glue, erasers; optional items: scissors, Ziploc bags, pit folders, composition notebooks, clipboard, facial tissue.
Grade 3 — enrol bag, wide- ruled, loose-leaf paper; pencils, facial tissue.
